Where We are

MCEI was founded in 2020 in Half Moon Bay, California, USA, to create a platform where people, businesses, and corporations can give back to underserved communities and populations in the way that best fits their values. We currently have one sister program in Nigeria (Million Children for Growth & Empowerment Initiative (MCGEI)) and are looking to expand to other countries.

Learn about Educational Exclusion

The following are the forms of Educational Exclusion that MCEI is working to address

  1. Exclusion from entry into school or an educational program
  2. Exclusion from continuing an education
  3. Exclusion from meaningful learning experiences
  4. Exclusion from recognition
  5. Exclusion from contributing to the development of a society
  6. Exclusion from career opportunities

Why MCEI is in Africa

Western education has been in Africa since the late 15th century when the missionaries arrived in Africa. And yet, Africa today has the highest rate of “educational exclusion” in the world.

60% of children between the ages of 15-17, 33% of Youth between the ages of 12-14, 20% of children 6-11 are out of school in Sub Saharan Africa .
